Chris Makuch

Chris is Notified’s Senior Director in Canada. A veteran executive with over 25 years of experience in corporate governance and shareholder communications / identification, he focuses on helping companies connect with their target audiences. He has advised management teams, boards of directors and activist investors on M & A and proxy solicitation communications strategies while working on some of the biggest transactions in Canadian history. Now, he is concentrating on broader access to Canadian media for clients and ensuring they amplify their story through exclusive syndication and targeted outlets to drive stakeholder engagement and shareholder value. Chris is a current member of the Canadian Investor Relations (CIRI) Issues Committee and Service Provider Advisory Committee and a past member of the Ontario Chapter Executive. He co-authored Unlocking Value at Canadian Pacific: The Proxy Battle with Pershing Square (Ivey Publishing 2017) and has been a frequent speaker and contributor on corporate governance, stakeholder / shareholder engagement, AI and proxy process voting issues. He holds a BA from King’s University College at The University of Western Ontario and an MBA (Financial Services from Dalhousie University. He is the Past-president of the Alumni Association of the University of Western Ontario (2010 – 2012). Chris is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Banks.
